Slide Her Till She Freezes Over / Ender Bender!!

Sorry for the delay in getting this post up. I have had a ton of photos to go through from the year, but finally the shots from the "Slide Her Till She Freezes Over" contest and Basecamp's Ender Bender are up. If you were there, then you already know that this was the greatest party EVER! For those of you who missed out.... I'm sorry to rub it in, but you missed the greatest party EVER!! It was an amazing day filled with riding, costumes, good music and great times, that followed with an epic party to end the year off right.
Thanks to those who came and we hope to see everyone next year!

Basecamp Open House

Come by Basecamp this weekend for our Open House! Take a tour of camp, and sliderlake. Go for a free wakeboard, wakeskate, wakesurf, or slider session! Eat some food, drink some Vitamin Water, or just hang out and have a good time. Bring your friends and family this Saturday 11am-5pm and pay us a visit.
Hope to see you there!

Billabong Sisterhood Sessions

Last weekend was our second Billabong Sisterhood Sessions here at camp, and also our busyest weekend of the summer. With a record 24 girls showing up for the fun and festivities, we had all three boats loaded as well as a group at our sliderlake. Rotating throughout the weekend so that the girls could all have some time on the sliders and get some big air behind the nautiques. As always Billabong hooked everyone up with some goodies to represent, making sure no one went home empty handed. We will miss all of you, that is untill next year!

Rip Curl Grom Search

Rip Curl came to Basecamp this week for two days for the Rip Curl Grom Search. One lucky Grom had a chance to win a one year sponsorship from Rip Curl. Drew Hawkshaw along with Daniel Watkins came up with a load of swag to hand out, and to help pick out the one lucky Grom. After two days of some sick riding the decision was too close to call. They decided to give both Christian Primrose and Jordan Long a one year sponsorship from
Rip Curl. Congrats to both of you!

Wakestock

Wakestock has come and past, and once again we were there to see it through. Hopefully all of you stopped by the tent while you were there. If not, you missed out...
The weather in Collingwood
held out for the festivities, with the thunder only hitting Sunday morning shortly before passing over and turning into an awesome day. The Basecamp riders who were participating rode well overall. Justin Larue came just short of qualifying into pro, coming in 5th. Dary Znebel qualified into pro, throwing down a sick run but not enough to move on. On the podium was both Peitra Basijli and Lesslie Sparks, Peitra placing 3rd and Lesslie 2nd in the woman's pro division. In the intermediate division, two up and coming Basecamp riders Christian Primrose and Jordan Long placed 1st and 2nd. Keep up the good work and see you on the water.

Sattelyte Week

Last week here at Basecamp was Sattelyte wakeskate week. Visiting from the Sattelyte team was Jeff Engen and Tanner Champion to do a bit of coaching and riding. Also visiting was Dan Hughes from Red Button Creative to make a short video, look for it soon. Mid week Dan and the Sattelyte guys, along with Basecamps Scott Duke set up in the slider lake for a late night slider session and bonfire for the campers.

Just when you're thinking that Basecamp has it all, we blow your mind with something new! Our accountant Eve Northmore is a woman of many talents, her newest one being Fire Dancing. Come to camp and you just might see a show...

Billabong Week a success!

Once again, another week is behind us. We had a full camp for our Billabong week, full of fun and excitement. Other than one sore ankle, everything went well, and even that didn't hold anyone back. Thanks to Billabong for all of the sweet schwag!

Militia Undercover @ Red Leaves

Over the last week or so, two of our instructors Josh Arviko and Dan Ross have built a slider in front of Red Leaves Resort on lake Rosseau. On Saturday everyone came out for a rail jam hosted by Red Leaves and Cabana Boardshops. Taking home the Cabana Cash and the bragging rights was Basecamp rider Josh Arviko.

5th line added to sliderlake

After adding in the new rooftop slider, some re-arranging was in order. The small up-flat from the middle line was moved and replaced with the rooftop. A 5th line was made by moving this and a few of the smaller sliders that were also moved to make room for the rooftop.

Basecamp Trailer meets it's final resting place

Here at Basecamp we are always acquiring new and unusual things. This trailer was a donation that had been sitting collecting dust for newmorous years at a farm in Caledon. We brought it up here and did our best to camouflage it into the muskoka wilderness.
Maybe camouflage wasn't the best word...

Tramp Board

We have stepped it up a notch from an old skate with some bindings on it boys and girls. Learn to throw those dirty batwings and steez grabs on one of our tramp boards before hitting the water!

FROLF!

Everyone loves playing frisbee, so why not play frisbee golf! Come try our world class frisbee golf course today!

Billabong Sisterhood Sessions

This past weekend was the Billabong Sisterhood Sessions here at camp. There were 12 girls who showed up for the weekend and all of them left with a smile and a bag filled with Billabong goodies. The weekend started off a little rainy and cold, but the girls all toughed it out and went out on the water. Shortly after, the clouds broke and the sun came out and we enjoyed 2 days in the sun. We hope to see all of you at our next Billabong Sisterhood Session on August 15-16th.

Danger Ranger Overhaul

Anyone who has visited Basecamp probably remembers seeing what we call the "danger ranger", a black '94 Mazda. The "danger ranger" has been looking a little beat up lately and in need of a paintjob... Basecamp style.

Turtle Jack's Winch Jam

Yesterday SWS hosted a winch jam out front of Turtle Jack's in Port Carling. A few of the basecamp riders joined in for a couple of hits before Justin Larue bailed, putting his arm through the ply. The manager from Turtle Jack's said that they set a franchise record for sales, at 4pm.

NEW SEASON!!!!!!

Well the new season is fast approaching and we have been working hard to make this the best season yet. We have been chopping wood, painting walls and riding behind brand new air nautique 220. We have been working really hard so we deserve it. We chipped and chopped every tree that fell this winter. We also created a great new fire pit with the Skeleton of the monster that tried to kill red button and massacred the hot tub for proper removal. The main camp house is getting a sweet makeover and the mini ramp has been getting tons of action. The only sad news to report is our faithful “ol blue” seadoo took its last nail. The old girl couldn't take sinking to the bottom of the slider lake. Thanks to our new cook Nick and our wakeskate coach Addison Farr, she was finally put to rest. Don`t worry though the lake will be ridable in no time.

Boat Show 2009

January has crept up on us again and with the new year comes the Boat Show. Our biggest and best show of the year. (In the winter that is). JBR designs has been working for the last week building the largest indoor wakeboard setup....ever. It is actually quite impressive. So it is worth a trip down to see it and of course while you are there, you can check out the all new Basecamp booth which Leslie and I have been working on for quite some time as well. Also great deals on camp at the booth if you want to ensure a spot this summer and get a deal.

See you at the show!

Winter Wonderland

Was up north this past weekend and thought I would share some pictures with everybody. Winter wonderland. There must have also been a storm because a tree decided to test out the strength of RedButton Studios. Hold strong RedButton, hold strong.
